THE NEW DETROIT ENTERTAINMENT DISTRICT

WC&P was part of the design efforts to bring together the downtown sports and entertainment venues into one common entertainment district. Strategic planning with the new outdoor planned venues, the new Little Caesars Arena, Comerica Park, the Fox Theater, and midtown restaurants was part of the overall masterplanning. WC&P was involved in outdoor concert and event venues which are supported from uniquely design and strategically positioned food and beverage outlets.

SINGAPORE GENERAL HOSPITAL – SINGAPORE

WC&P was chosen from a list of international design firms to provide programming expertise and design for the new Singapore General Hospital. The new facility is a 1,700 bed addition to the current 1,000 beds. Food service facilities include a new 45,000 SF main kitchen with the latest in cook/chill meal preparation technology to serve all 2,700 beds on campus. The patient meal delivery system will also be the latest in rethermalization technology with an autonomous (unmanned) delivery systems, automated guided vehicles (AGVs) to move patient trays between the main kitchen and patient wards.

VANCOUVER CONVENTION & EXHIBITION CENTRE – BRITISH COLUMBIA, CANADA

The Province of British Columbia undertook an aggressive venture to expand its existing convention center by adding a wing consisting of over 1.5 million sq. ft. This multi-purpose expansion houses exhibit halls, meeting rooms, and ballrooms to serve Vancouver and the greater Northwest Pacific. An exciting feature to this project is a harbor concourse that connects both the North and South facilities. In addition to the complete design of all expansion food and beverage facilities, WC&P was requested to assist the owner in the development and coordination of a caterer contract by assisting with the development of the RFP and sample contract documents for this work. WC&P coordinated proposal meetings, reviewed written proposals, selected and scored a short listing of proposers, set the presentation format, and recommended a final selection of a foodservice provider for this long-term contract.

WESTIN HOTEL – DENVER INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT – DENVER, COLORADO

The Westin at Denver International Airport (DIA) is a new world-class 500-room airport terminal hotel. WC & Partners was chosen as the food service and laundry consultant for this prominent and complex project consisting of all Westin hotel amenities, a public transit center to accommodate a train line from downtown, and a public plaza for community programming and events. DIA is the 10th busiest airport in the world generating over $22 billion annually for the region. The Westin Hotel will provide additional revenue to this base and an asset to the traveling guest.
The food service elements consist of a lobby lounge, 24/7 restaurant, 24/7 room service, ballrooms and meeting rooms, pool deck and mobile thematic service elements.
